Purpose

Maine School Author Visit Grants are intended to help PreK-12 schools host authors and illustrators who will share writing processes, story development and research experiences, while inspiring students to read, write and illustrate.  

    Grant History

The Onion Foundation managed this grant program from 2016 - 2020. As of June 2021 the Author Visit Grant became a stand-alone grant opportunity, separate from the foundation. The grant is now housed with the Maine Literacy Fund.
